About

The Taoist Association of New York, Inc. is a nonprofit cultural organization committed to preserving and promoting the philosophy, practice, and living heritage of Taoism in New York and beyond.
The Association serves as a bridge between ancient Eastern wisdom and contemporary society, offering a trusted platform for education, spiritual cultivation, and cultural exchange among people of all backgrounds.

The Association was founded by Taoist priests and devotees from multiple authentic lineages.

The Association upholds the following core philosophy:

“The Dao is the origin of the universe and the principle underlying the operation of all things. Thus, it follows the way of nature, and from this flow, the wisdom of harmonious coexistence arises. This is the path to living in balance with the world.”

Guided by the principle of “Harmony with Nature and Coexistence through Virtue,” the Association strives to preserve the spiritual essence of Taoism while adapting its teachings to modern life in a meaningful and accessible way.

The Association conducts regular lectures on classical Taoist scriptures, Tiaji and meditation programs, ritual and divination services, art & cultural workshops, and community events.
These activities aim to help individuals achieve inner balance, cultivate virtue, and deepen their understanding of the natural harmony between heaven, earth, and humanity.

Beyond spiritual education, the Association actively collaborates with artists, educators, academic groups, cultural institutions, and nonprofit organizations to co-create cultural exchange programs, educational projects, and community initiatives that promote mutual understanding and shared growth. Through these initiatives, the Association endeavors to make Taoist wisdom both relevant and beneficial to today’s global community.
